Six days. Kurt insists on the President's Conference: Opposition Disabled for Elections

A week before the deadline ends when parliament must elect the country's president, Kosovo appears to be moving towards extraordinary new elections. Kurti in a statement to reporters today warned two more three parties of new elections, writes Periscopi. The two largest opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League [...]

The two largest opposition parties -- the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), with which Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti held talks on the president's issue, say this issue is already closed -- no agreement with the leader of the winning party, Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti.

Kurti said that if we go to the elections we'll lose millions of euros as a state, because even if we go to elections, we won't find solutions and we'll have to go to elections again.

If we go to new elections, we lose millions of euros as a state. If we go to new elections, we will have no choice, since we will again have to go to new elections, and after that we will still have to go to new elections. I don't know how we can have 80 deputies, so it's necessary to deal with”, He said it.

Prime Minister Monday, after failing a deal with LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, said LDK leader has rejected all bids he has made, thus revealing for the first time publicly what he has offered LDK.

I made two offers to LDK, one for co-governance, the other for a ties in the Parliament's Headship. I just finished my meeting with Obadiah, whom I thank. However, I have to find that the talks were unsuccessful because none of the bids were accepted by him. We initially offered that the LDK would be in co-governance with us, to have the deputy prime minister, MPJs and three other ministries. I've preferred that my replacement become Obadiah and start a new chapter of co-operation”, Kurt was expressed after meeting with Abdixhik.

Until the LDK leader after this meeting said Kurti insisted that Vetevendosje have the president.

There was no other proposal from Kurt, except that the president is of Vetevendosje. ”

Abdixhiku said that “agreed not to meet with Kurt, that makes more sense. ”

After failing to reach agreement with the LDK, Kurti said he has sent a message to the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza.

Kosovo Democratic Party Chairman Bedri Hamza has presented the latest offer by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the president's case.

Hamza has told of the chronology of all discussions with Kurti and the position the PDK has taken on the president's case. He showed that today he received a message from Kurt in Whatsapp, where he offered them The PDK is the post of Speaker of the Parliament in exchange for the deputy chairman currently holding the PDK.

Hamza suggested that Kurt offered him The PDK to give the position of Speaker of the Parliament, while the vice president of this party passes the VV.

He called this offer inconsistent.

“Because the head of the Assembly has been conditioned, the Assembly is constitutionalised, elected are voted in. We haven't disputed this case, we're not talking about head of the Parliament. We have not gone to beg for position or for any of the members of the Democratic Party. We have gone to give the country political institutions and stability. This is not at all serious”, Hamza declared before the media.

On April 28th, the deadline set by the Constitutional Court to elect Kosovo's president ends, and after the end of that deadline, parliament is automatically dissolved and extraordinary elections must be held within 45 days. Kosovo's president, under the Constitution, is elected by two-thirds of the vote in the first two or 61 votes in the third round, but 80 deputies present in the hall are needed for the hearing to be held. The Vetevendosje movement, with partners in government, non-Serb minorities, has only 66 seats in the assembly, out of 120 countries as long as the Kosovo Parliament has them. After the end of Vjosa Osmani's term as president and the assembly's failure to elect the new president/president, on April 4th, according to the Constitution, the presidential task leader was appointed speaker Albulen Haxhiu, who cannot exercise the post more than six months. Haxhiu, who comes from the Vetevendosje Movement, has sometimes called on political parties to reach a consensus on electing the president, saying the country should not go to extraordinary new elections./ P ERISCOPI/

He won 51%, Kurti warns two or three more parties after one.

Kurti: That was my offer to Obadiah.
