The Sierra Leone flagship was launched by the Russian port of Novorossysk with about a million barrels of crude oil, according to ship tracking data. The oil ship is under sanctions from the European Union and the United Kingdom.
NTV reported that an explosion occurred on the ship's board, owned by the Turkish company Besiktas, when it was hit by a threat on the Black Sea, and that the ship's engine room started filling up with water. /Periscope
