Trump stressed that the United States is holding talks with a new and more reasonable “regime” and underlined that intervention will be revenge for US soldiers who were killed during the previous period of the Iranian regime.
However, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said his country had no direct contact with Washington and described the American “excessive” and <x2-humanist”.
“What has been discussed are message received through mediators, under which the US wants to negotiate”, Baghai said, adding that Iran has always been clear about its position and that the American side's demands are unreasonable.
The situation shows the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran and increases the risk of a direct confrontation in the region.
