The protected witness who testified yesterday at The Hague has said that Rrustem Mustafa during his interview with the Prosecutor has said no one has intervened in his testimony to Hashim Thaci and others for war crimes.
According to what Fadil Fazliu's lawyer read, witness Rrustem Mustafa had told the prosecutor that the accused were his friends and that no one had interfered with his testimony. And he would testify only to what he knew without being influenced by anyone.
The defense yesterday asked her questions about the first witness in SPS, Witness 7.
There were also questions from Thaci's defence teams, Smajt, Fazlius and Kilajt.
Otherwise, after confirming the indictment against the five accused, Isni Kilaj, the Smaj Union and Fadil Fazliu were arrested by the SPS on December 5th and transferred to the detention facility of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague on December 6, 2024.
Hashim Thaci surrendered to arrest at the DHSK detention facility on 5 December, while Hajredin Kuci was handed over the call for the first presentation. In their first appearance on December 8, 2023, Thaci and Smaj were not declared guilty or innocent, while Fazliu pleaded innocent to all points of the indictment. A day later, on December 9th, Kuci and Kilaj pleaded innocent to all points of the indictment.
After Thaci and Smaj decided not to plead guilty during the December 17th 2024 session, the court of preliminary procedure demanded that they be declared in writing until January 7th 2025.
On January 6, 2025, Thaci delivered the announcement through which he pleaded innocent. The plea of the Smajt Union's innocence surrendered on January 3rd and became public on January 14th 2025.
On November 11th 2025, the court of preliminary procedure announced to the president that the file of the case would be ready to pass a court on November 12th 2025.
Consequently, the head of the DHSK appointed the sole judge for the trial of this case. On November 12th, 2025, the court of preliminary procedure handed the case to the only judge. The trial preparation conference was held on November 28, 2025, while the trial began on February 27, 2026.
