Claims were filed in the motion of several violations made in the Apel Act announced in July 2025.
“Panel dropped all points presented by defence and found that the right to fair judgment of Shala, criminal law or procedures had not been violated and declared some of the <x1 points unacceptable, the statement said.
In 2024, Peter Shala, former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), was sentenced to 18 years in prison for war crimes by the special court's court.
He has been convicted of arbitrary detention and torture against at least 18 people and at the point of unlawful murder against one person, on or around June 5, 1999, at the metal factory in Kukes, Albania.
