Former EU Special Representative for Kosovo Ambassador Wolfgang Petritsch ( Wolfgang Petric) in an interview in RTV21 said Prime Minister Kurti must establish association. Asked whether Kurt would be the one to implement this mechanism, he gave this answer.
“Yes. I'm waiting and they told me. Also, the Prime Minister every time we meet and talk about it. I also try to convince him that by finding a compromise solution for the status of Kosovo Serbs it would empower Kosovo's status in Europe. And it would be an important step towards the EU. This is something that Mr. Kurti, now the most powerful politician there, with the greatest public support, with the support of the vote, takes that step forward. This is required”.
Even EU representatives in Kosovo have recently declared that the draft Serb majority Communist Associations Association draft should be sent to the Constitutional Court.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo government did not answer RTV21's question whether it would act in terms of the Serb majority municipalities' association as the international community is seeking.
But days before representatives of LVV said they took no action at the expense of Kosovo's interest until Prime Minister Kurti himself a week ago said that “Zajednica”, as he has called it, does not exist even after five years in the government.
The opposition, meanwhile, is calling on Kurt to stop playing with association, which he has accepted, as they say in the AAK.
“Prime Minister Kurti has accepted the Association and he shouldn't play games or premonise or not. I don't think the United States agrees with executive competencies that make the state of Kosovo dysfunctional. we as AAK-we have expressed attitude and we're about an association with executive competencies”, Albana Bytyqi said about Rtv21
The association of Serb majority municipalities is part of the Brussels agreement and the Ohrid annex as the level of self-awareness of the Serb community.
France and Germany have also called on Prime Minister Kurti for commitment on the road towards normalising relations, saying it is up to both sides to implement the pledges taken in the dialogue process. /Periscope
