Prime Minister Edi Rama has reformed the government a few months after the launch of his third mandate, following the suspension of Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Belinda Balluk, writes Euronewsal.
On the main changes:
- Albana Kociu replaces Balluk as deputy prime minister, while the Energy and Infrastructure portfolio is entrusted to Enea Karakaci, former director of the OSHE.
- Besfort Lamallari receives the Interior Ministry after Koci's departure, while justice currently runs Tony Gog.
- In the Foreign Ministry, Ferit Hoxha returns, replacing Elisa Spiropal.
- Ermal Nufi is named defence minister, instead of Pirro Vng, and Eriona Ismaili, Vlora's newest MP, takes up the post of minister for relations with Parliament.
In total, four new ministers enter the government, while three leave, such as Belinda Balluk, Elisa Spiropali and Piro Vang. Recent moves were announced after a marathon meeting at the Palace of Brigades.
