Tens of thousands of passengers have been blocked because of the war involving Iran and which has spread to the Gulf region.
However, some richer travelers are managing to escape by paying large sums for luxury private flights to Europe through airports considered safe from Iranian attacks, writes Forbes.
The demand for flights “charter” has erupted, where some people pay up to 200,000 euros for these flights, as the main airports in Dubaj, Abu Dhabi and Doha in Qatar closed after the start of the conflict last weekend.
From there they board commercial or charter flights that are now far more expensive than usual.
Experts say high prices reflect the lack of available aircraft and the risks of operating on current conditions, not just market speculation. /Periscope
