The KLA War Veterans' Organisation (OVL-UÇK) has reacted to this announcement, saying the reality of the judicial process does not match claims of full respect of rights.
According to this organisation, Kosovo citizens have seen in recent years how the rights of those charged in the process are addressed. According to them, keeping former KLA members on trial at The Hague for such a long time is difficult to reason on, especially when the court itself says the judicial process is in the closing phase.
Don't try to stare at our people with such statements, as if the rights of the accused and the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo have been fully respected during this process. Veterians also question how the long-standing detention of KLA leaders, “when the court itself says the trial is in the closing phase?
This is a question that requires clear answers, not formal statements on respect for rights. We want nothing more than genuine justice and equal standards, as applied in any other democratic judicial system”, it is said in response. /Periscope/
