MPJD: Hundreds of Kosovars are still in the Middle East, while some have returned

The ministry, in an answer Thursday, however, did not show the exact number of Kosovars returning from the region.

She said Kosovo institutions are dealing with returns requirements in co-ordination with the authorities of the respective countries and with international partners.

The United States and Israel began shelling against February 28, attacking the limits of the military and the clergy regime.

After major weekend bombings, which killed even Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatholall Ali Khamenei, Tehran launched revenge attacks on Israel and some countries in the Middle East that house US military bases, including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The wars have not stopped since then, and the Kosovo Ministry stressed that there are about a thousand Kosovo citizens in Gulf countries, including residences and temporary visitors.

According to the latest information received by our diplomatic missions, it is currently estimated that around 600 Kosovo citizens continue to stay in these” areas, it says in response.

She said the process of evacuation of citizens from Israel is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

According to the ministry, the Kosovo Embassy in Riyadh is working to enable the passage of citizens from Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq to Saudi Arabia, facilitating the process of Saudi visa equipment.

This is done in order for citizens to use commercial flights to Kosovo from airports in Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh. Meanwhile, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Qatar has covered the road transport of citizens from Qatar and Iraq so that they can continue on their journey to Kosovo. In the United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, commercial flights have resumed, and our embassy there is assisting citizens to organise their return to Kosovo”, she added.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Kosovo Embassy in Zagreb reported that some Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens have also reached Pristina, but did not disclose their number.

According to the announcement, the request has come from the Bosnian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Through Pristina Airport, citizens of Northern Macedonia have also returned.

The Northern Macedonia Radio Service Free Europe reported that a group of 153 passengers has been evacuated on Wednesday, while Macedonian authorities have warned more returns.

Foreign Minister Timcho Mutunski informed on Monday that a co-ordinated process of evacuation of Macedonian citizens is under way from several countries in the Middle East, which is expected to be finalised by the end of this week.

Among the passengers who have been evacuated since March 8th, according to the report, are 13 citizens from Kosovo. / REL/
