Ambassador Guerot: France remains Kosovo's trusted ally

Today France celebrates its National Day, also known as Bastija Day, a date marking the beginning of the French Revolution and triumph of the values of freedom, equality and brotherhood.
France's Ambassador to Kosovo Olivier Guerot explained the importance of this holiday and the strong link the French people have with the idea of Republic and democracy, writes RTKPeriscope broadcast.
The ambassador also spoke of how this day is marked in France, citing three main activities.
We have three main moments in France. On July 13th is the tradition of the fire ball. On July 14th, military parades are held, while fireworks are organised in the evening throughout France”, Guerot said.
Speaking of relations with Kosovo, the ambassador stressed that France has been its supporter since the beginning.
“France is alongside Kosovo from the start. France is an ally, a reliable friend, solid in endurance, ongoing. We have supported Kosovo's independence, the establishment of the state of Kosovo”, he said.
According to Guerot, the current focus of co-operation is support for Kosovo's economic development, cutting off organisation of the 2030 Mediterranean Games in Pristina.
He added that France aims to intensify co-operation with Kosovo in various areas, especially in culture and economy.
