Southern Ethiopia's regional state office also granted a total of 52 deaths.
A photo posted on Facebook by the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation showed residents standing in the country of landslides, with parts of a nearby hill stripped of vegetation and some people standing to their knees in the mud.
