Kosovo at the centre of a meeting about two hours in the UN, Vulaj: US Must Take Lead Role in Dialogue With Serbia, EU Recession

The AARC has announced that at this meeting it is represented by President Martin Vulaj and Vehbi Bajrami, the former Chief of Service in Voice of America and the newest member of the AARC Board.
“Among the main topics discussed were common security concerns, Kosovo's possible path towards NATO membership, including the important challenges that remain, the Department stressed the urgent need to improve the investment climate, noting concerns raised by American companies over local barriers, while stressing US interest in supporting development of energy sectors and”, Vulaj has announced.
Vulaj has said that at this meeting he has responded to the UN optimism about the Kosovo-Serbia Ditaog process, showing him that in these 15 years of negotiations, the results are limited.
He has also said the ARC has asked the US to engage in leading role, since Europe has bureaucratic approach and Serbia is not interested in successful ends.
“In response to the department's optimism of restarting dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, AARC stressed that the process has now expanded to 15 years with limited results. It was highlighted that Serbia has shown little real interest in a successful outcome and that Europe's bureaucratic approach, which is essentially its own, has so far failed to produce significant results. AARC stressed that any real progress will require a US-led process. While reaffirming that mutual recognition remains the official US policy, AARC stressed that it should be clearly defined as the central objective of the” dialogue, Vulaj has announced.
