Jakaj: First time LVV attacks Constitutional Court

Researcher at the Kosovo Institute for Justice, Naim Jakaj, estimates that the latest public statements by LVV officials that the Constitutional Court should decide in their favour in terms of the decree of President Osmani are regarded as the next attacks and pressure that ruling party officials are making to the Constitutional judges. [...]
According to him, this practice should be halted because there is also a pledge before the Council of Europe not to put pressure on the justice system.
The “is not the first time political activists, particularly the ruling LVV, attack the Constitutional Court, but also intervene through public statements. This is intervention in the justice system by pressuring the Court to decide in the form that the LVV wants. This should not have happened. We know how Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti, former Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and current president Osmani, had sent letters to the Council of Europe that they would not intervene in justice through public statements, respectively. Already this pledge is not being lived and we will be witnesses that in the Progress Report Kosovo can rank as a country that attacks and intervenes in the justice system through public statements.”, Jakaj told RTV21, broadcasts Periscope. /Periscope
