Iran's Navy chief, who was behind Hormuz Strait, is said to have been killed in an air strike while Donald Trump says he wants a “quick end of the war”. Alireza Tangsiri, 64, a key figure in maintaining control over the critical waterway, was bombed in a city [...]
Alireza Tangsiri, 64, a key figure in maintaining control over the critical water route, was bombed in a nearby port town, an Israeli official said.
The source told The Jerusalem Post that the leader of the Navy was killed in Bandar Abbas é positioned on Iran's coast with the commercial artery.
Under Tangsir's command, the Iranian Navy has mined the strait and bombed every hostile ship that passed, broadcasts Telegrafi.
The boss's control has increased global energy prices since the Hormuz Strait is a transition for a fifth of global oil exports.
Calling top of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2018 Tangsiri had increased operations in Iran's waters over the past month.
Just last week, he threatened: “The oil-related acts of America are now at the same level as the American bases and will be strongly attacked”.
This comes as Trump pushes for an immediate end to the war with Iran, while he expresses angry that the regime has “fears” to admit it is seeking talks, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
The American president has told the aides he wants the conflict to end within weeks, with a specific deadline approaching prior to important talks with China in mid-May.
Sources from the White House say Trump is determined to end the war before May 14th when he meets Xi Jinping after the summit was postponed due to war.
He believes the joint attack on US-Israel bombings is close to hitting his targets.
But Tehran is trying and publicly rejecting peace, while, Trump insists, strives for a deal.
“They're negotiating, by the way, and they really want to make a deal”, he said.
But they're afraid to say that, because they think they're going to be killed by their people”, Trump added.
