Former Prime Minister and Ex-Deputy of Avdullah Hoti has raised questions about how the means for capital investments were spent during the period 2021-2025, when the government was guided by Albin Kurti i n Vetevendosje Movement.
In a public response, Hoti said that from budget analysis it turns out that in this period close to 3 billion euros have been spent on capital expenditures from the state budget.
However, according to him, after the exemption of investments in municipalities which he considers relatively small it is difficult to identify concrete projects where these means have been spent.
He stressed that some of the country's main infrastructure projects have not yet been completed. According to Hoti, the main regional roads continue to be unfinished, while the Anamorawa Highway is not finished, which, according to him, implies that payments to these projects have not been carried out overall.
Hoti also cited two major projects expected to absorb a significant portion of the budget for capital investments: the construction of the railway towards Durres and the Prizren-Tetovo tunnel. According to him, these projects have not even started.
“Two major projects, railways for Durres and the Prizren-Tetovo tunnel, expected to spend large part of the budget for capital investments, have not even started,” said Hoti.
At the end of his reaction, he posed the question: “So where were all these tools spent?”.
