Explore a tourist ship with thousands of people on Abu Dhabi

Clouds of black smoke rise over Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). Photographed Sunday afternoon by a tourist on the balcony of “Mein Schiff 4”. Within a very short time, the Middle East became a war zone. And it was in the middle of it that thousands of German tourist vacationers were in. [...]
Mein Schiff 4” by TTUI Crisiss is currently anchored at Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi. A powerful explosion occurred there on Sunday afternoon, according to the German era. The defence ministry has since announced that two Iranian fears were responsible, which fell into a warehouse at Al Salaam naval base near the port. This caused the flames of two containers.
BILD learned from a passenger on board: “We received an emergency alert on our mobile phones about 4:30 p.m. and were told to gather immediately at the ship's theater. There was a loud noise close by,” reported another passenger.
“The crew instructed us to get inside, avoid windows, and keep quiet”, he added.
The atmosphere on board is tense. Many passengers, including many families with children, are slowly losing their peace: panic, cry, fear of further clashes. And nobody knows how or when we're gonna get out of here”, writes Telegrafi, the Periscope broadcast.
Seven-day voyages with the ship “Orient Law” with the ship “Mein Schiff 4” usually include the following stops: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Khasab, Muscat, Doha and Dubai. Prices start at 899 euros per person for a standard double cabin.
A total of six tourist ships are currently anchored in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, Qatar's capital. Besides the “Mein Schiff 4”, another TuI ship, “Mein Schiff 5”, is also anchored in Doha.
Also in Dubai are “M SC Eurbia” by MSC Cruises, “Celestyal Discovery” and “Celestial Yourney” by Celestyal Criises, and “Aroya” by Aroya Criises. Tourist lines have already cancelled several trips and are working with local authorities and international partners to ensure everyone's safety aboard.
Clearly, all ships will stay at the port with their passengers aboard at the moment. Airspace closure and airport attacks make it impossible to return home by plane.
And simply continuing to travel by sea is not an option. This would require passage through the Strait of Hormuz, which is only a few miles from the Iranian coast and is currently closed to all ships.
Normal hotel operations on the ship are continuing generally, so everyone on board is taking care of them, reported. The atmosphere among passengers is tense.
After the missile attack, the captain ordered all passengers to gather together inside the ship”, a driver of “Mein Schiff 4” reported. The decks and outer balconys remain closed.
However, even shipping organizations are being praised: “Manager for food, drink, etc., is currently urging families to report their needs for powder, diapers, etc. so that a supply can be brought aboard for a week. The same seems to be true of drugs that the ship's doctor does not have in store”, a vacationer for BILD explained.
What happens next? TAI Cruises says the dynamic situation makes every reliable prediction impossible. They currently depend on information from airlines to determine whether and when return flights can be developed. The company further declares: “We know that many people are currently concerned about family members and their friends on board. The safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority”.
All starts in the region are cancelled until March 2nd and included. No further cruises to the Orient can be reserved on the Mein Schiff website for any date after this date. The affected visitors will receive a full reimbursement or a 10 per cent discount when they rereservate on another boat trip.
