This change has cost years in Kosovo in this Ramadan. Compared to last year, when they were divided to 3, 5 and 10 euros, they are now earmarked at 5, 10 and 15 euros.
So the Islamic Community of Kosovo decided as an institution regulating the norms and value of these religious obligations of each member.
The professor at the Faculty of Islamic Religion in Pristina, Bahri Hoxha, authorised by BIK to provide clarification to the decision, says it relates to the standard of living.
“Standard, not only the prices, but the standard is increased and then people on the basis of their standard, always the institution has given more than a standard, depending on the standards that the faster makes. If the faster has a standard of simpleness, he gets the lowest price, while other standards are for those who during Ramadan had another standard of food and so on”, Hoxha said.
This also explains how this alms has been given historically.
The prices range from five from now on, the assigning of the Smacleul Fitr Prize depends, first we have to go back and understand it in essence, at the time of the Prophet, it was given mainly by the basic food that was at the time...
This is an expensive price for charity, which is well understood for Muslims.
Citizens Ardian Purrini says the decision is reasonable considering the current economic situation.
I see it as a normal reaction because, as we all know, everything has gone up, prices have gone up, and with five euros it's very easy to calculate a simpler measure, less than that. So, I believe they've thought it through that they should raise the price and I believe it's reasonable and appropriate. I hope that the minimum won't increase, but those of us who can afford a euro two don't look at it, but it needs to be thought of for those who don't have the option of”, Purrin said.
Even the other citizen, Bedri Llapashtica, considers the decision fair, stressing that rising prices is a reflection of the overall situation in the market.
The decision of the Islamic Community is correct... BIK is not to blame here on these jobs, tomatoes and all that we've got are doubles. Vitats are not that they're expensive wanting the Islamic Community, but time is looking for any work”, Llapashtica added.
Meanwhile, citizen Bajram Mehija, who also well understands the decision, does not give up a general complaint about the lack of income.
They've brought this decision, I've paid five years, this year from 10, and girls... All is growing only wages and pensions are not increasing”, Mehija has indicated.
Szakatul Fitri is a duty to Muslim believers given at the end of the month of Ramadan, in order to help families in need, and to be allowed to host the feast of Fiter Bajram with dignity.
The Islamic community, at the same time, has doubled the value of money a believer should have had to pay the charity for 2.5 per cent. Of the 5,875 euros last year, this amount is 12,000 euros this year. /kp/
