With the awareness that we bear the responsibility of 86 million people, we never abandon care and discretion. While taking a firm stand against actions that violate our airspace, we also continue to take steps to strengthen the peace and security of our nation”, Erdogan said.
The Turkish president made these comments in a video message welcoming Turkish citizens on the occasion of Ramadan Bayram, also known as Fiter Bajrami, the holiday that comes after the holy month of Ramadan.
He expressed his congratulations that Bajrami brings kindness, blessings and beauty to the country, the Islamic world and all humanity, and also cited the situation in the Middle East, AA reports. Periscope.
Our brothers and sisters in Gaza are trying to celebrate Ramadan Bay under Israeli attacks that violate ceasefire rules and block humanitarian aid. In various parts of Palestine, especially in the East Framework and the West Coast, as well as in southern Lebanon, occupation and destruction policies continue at full intensity”, he said.
Erdogan stressed that the attacks launched against Iran on 28 February, along with Iran's revenges with rockets and fears of third countries, have further escalated regional tensions.
“Facing this disturbing image, with the awareness that we bear the responsibility of 86 million people, never abandon the care and discretion”, Erdogan said, adding that Turkey continues to take strong measures against air space violations and to strengthen national security.
Referring to Turkey's “initiative without Terror” launched 17 months ago, Erdogan said they have overcome many trouble-free critical thresholds.
With the settlement of the issue in northern Syria through reconciliation, our security concerns have eased and Syria's territorial integrity has been preserved”, he said.
Our goal is to bring this useful process that we have started to a certain conclusion, taking into account the bloody scenarios required to install in our region”, the Turkish president stressed.
Erdogan also mentioned that in a period when global uncertainty is increasing, Turkey managed to boost its economy by 3.6 per cent last year, becoming the third fastest growing country among OECD countries in 2025. /Periscope/
