US insists Hormuz Strait is open while exchanging attacks with Iran

The US insists that Hormuz Strait is open, despite Iran's saying it has closed the waterway amid repeated attacks, the BBC reported, broadcast Periscopi.
The weapons, which were again lit this week, continued on Saturday after the US said they had hit more than 140 targets across Iran.
The attacks were a response to Iranian forces that hit a ship crossing the straits, which said it was using an unpopular route.
Iran has tried to establish control over the waterway, and early Sunday it was closed until further notice.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also launched extensive attacks on American bases and allies throughout the region on Sunday, marking a escalation in the scale of hostilities.
She said she had hit an American base in Jordan, while the United Arab Emirates (EBA), Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain said they had all responded to missiles and fears from Iran.
The BBC has addressed the US Central Command for comment on the Jordan attack.
Qatar, a mediator in the ceasefire talks, had not been attacked since April, while the United Arab Emirates had not been attacked since May./ Periscope.
