The Constitutional Court rules: Masses to President's decree and bans any action of the Parliament until March 31st

The Constitutional Court has imposed temporary measures against the President and Parliament to prevent any action until 31 March.
The decision comes after Prime Minister Albin Kurti handed the decree of President Vjosa Osmani on Friday to disperse the Assembly for consideration in this court.
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in support of Article 116 (2) of the Constitution, Article 27 of the Law, and rules 44, 45, 46 (2) and 48 (1) of the work regulation, on March 9, 2026, unanimously DIVING I. CATURE ex officio and on demand that the motion-proportionate motion with which any action by the President of the Republic of Kosovo is prohibited in connection with the decree No. 24/2026 of March 6th, 2026, as well as halt any action of the Republic of Kosovo Parliament, in the length specified under the 2nd point of this decision”, the Constitutional decision is said.
The court ordered, at the second point of the verdict, that the provisional measure “enters into force on March 9, 2026, in length until March 31, 2026”.
President Osmani issued the decree to distribute the Assembly after the new president was not elected until the end of the day, on March 5th.
