On March 31st, the deadline for declaring the property of public officials at the Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Kosovo expires. So far, around 4 thousand public officials have completed the 2025 property declaration.
In an electronic response to Radio Kosovo, APK Director Yll Buleskaj has said this process is continuing in line with the defined legal deadlines.
“So far, 3 thousand and 915 public officials, or 37.82%, have completed the property declaration, while 2 thousand and 34, or 19.65% have started the process, but have not yet completed it. Meanwhile, a considerable number of officials -- 4 thousand 404 or 42.54% respectively -- have not yet begun the declaration process”, Buleskaj said.
He has stressed that defaulting within deadlines, delays or incorrect statements constitutes legal violations and could be sanctioned by fines, criminal rowing, even prison sentences of up to five years. He also added that undeclared property could be subjected to seizures.
On the other hand, the State Prosecutor has indicated that criminal charges against 44 persons were filed during 2025 for contempt or false declarations of property.
State Prosecutor Liridona Kozmaqi Hajdari's spokeswoman, in an electronic response to Radio Kosovo, said that for several cases investigations have been fired, while the indictment has been filed for four people.
According to the Agency, the total number of officials subject to this legal obligation is 10,000 and 340, including doctors and professors. The deadline for declaring property for 2025 ends on March 31st, while authorities warn strict measures against those who do not meet this legal obligation.
