Americans have planned for the invasion of Iran and the location for prisoners of war.

Senior military commanders have presented concrete requirements aimed at preparing for such an option, while US President Donald Trump is looking at steps in the US-led conflict with Iran.

CBS Trump is considering deploying ground forces in the region, reports the report. It is not clear under what circumstances he would approve of the use of troops on the ground.

The military has also held meetings to prepare for the possibility of banning Iranian soldiers and paramilitary operatives, if Trump decides that American forces enter the field.

Two sources have said that the site where Iranian detainees would be transferred has also been discussed.
