Albania ranks among countries with highest readiness to fight for country among NATO members
The survey released by the American Institute “Freign Policy Research” confirms that 69 percent of Albanians would be willing to fight for their country, placing Albania second in Turkey with 88 percent, and ahead of countries like Sweden, Finland and Montenegro, with 66 percent, 64 percent and 63 percent respectively, writes rts.al.
The list follows Greece, 63 percent, Norway, 61 percent, Lithuania, 52 percent, and Poland and Slovenia - both 49 percent.
NATO's only two allies in North America rank slightly below average. In Canada 39 percent of respondents said that they were willing to fight for their country, while in the United States, 37 percent were willing to fight.
Countries with the lowest percentage of citizens willing to fight for their country in NATO are Italy, Slovakia, both 25 percent, Germany, 27 percent, the Netherlands, 30 percent, Hungary and the Czech Republic both, 33 percent.
