(4 months ago)Kosovo Communist Association Chairman Agim Aliu has sent a thank-you letter to the head of the Workers' Group for Kosovo to the European Union's Regions Committee, Gillian Coughlán, for its contribution and support to this institution's recent opinion concerning the EU Enlargement Pack 2025 for the Western Balkans and Turkey. According to the Kosovo Commission Association announcement, Coughlan's constructive and principled approach is appreciated in this letter, particularly its recommendation for harmonising the terminology for Kosovo with what is used by the European Parliament.
The letter also emphasises the recommendation for cutting off the use of “Kosovo” and relevant introductions to public documents of the Rajon Committee, considered important for clarity and institutional consistency in European institutions.
The Kosovo Communists Association has also stressed the importance of the role of municipalities and local authorities in the European integration process, naming them as key actors in implementing reforms and providing services for citizens.
The AKK's willingness to continue close co-operation with the Regions Committee, especially within the framework of this institution's Kosovo working group, which aims to strengthen dialogue and co-operation between Kosovo municipalities and the institutions of the European Union. /Periscope
