Rodney Dixon, a lawyer for Kadri Wessel, is continuing with the closing statement, saying that the Specialised Prosecutor's Office is being based “simply on second-hand information, gossip and unproven evidence”.
In the first two days, specialised Prosecutors said the closing statement of the prosecution body. The closing declaration was issued yesterday by the Protector of Victims. From yesterday, Hashim Thaci's lawyers, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi began to give their concluding statements.
The specialised prosecutor has sought 45 years in prison for each of the former KLA leaders.
After all the concluding statements were made to be carried out by February 18th, the case will be passed to the court, which has three months to declare an act of justice.
Thaci, Wessel, Selimi and Krasniqi are staying in custody of the Special Court in The Hague since early November 2020, charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity. The specialized prosecutor accuses them of being or should be aware of such crimes. /Periscope
