Situated: America is key contributor to KFOR for Kosovo's stability and security, entire region

The United States of America is the key contributor to the KFOR mission in Kosovo. So said KFOR Commander Ozkan Ulutas, in an exclusive interview in Info Magazine.
He was asked how the optimism process will affect the American presence in KFOR.
“The US remains key contributor to KFOR and is fully committed to continuing its contribution to sustainable security throughout Kosovo's territory and stability throughout the Western Balkans. Me and all KFOR personnel under my command remain fully devoted to our” mission.
Ulutash also spoke of the future mission co-operation he is leading with the Kosovo Police and the KSF following the completion of the optimism process.
“Pic first, KFOR has but a long and close and effective co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX as security responders. This co-operation is essential to continue, ensure and ensure an environment that is calm and safe for all people living in Kosovo. As far as KSF is concerned, our support remains focused on the power mandate that is original for civil protection. This is largely accomplished through a special and NATO-led supplemental structure called the Counseling and Interconnecting Team NATO, which is co-placed at KFOR headquarters at Camp Film City”.
This co-operation will continue indefinitely. Only recently, along with EULEX, have we had a joint exercise called "Golden Sabre 2026". This exercise enabled us to test all capacity for crisis management, skills and procedures in a series of security scenarios, including those related to safe treatment and annihilation of explosive devices and dangerous tools”, the KFOR commander said.
