Today, the commander of the NATO-led mission, Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General ãozkan Ulitaş, welcomed the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans of Hungary's prime minister, Mr. Zsolt Bunford, KFOR headquarters in Camp Film City, Pristina.
The meeting offered a valuable opportunity for the Commander to present the security situation in the region, stressing KFOR's commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all people in Kosovo. General Ulitaş also expressed his sincere gratitude for Hungary's recent contribution to the KFOR mission.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and to guarantee freedom of movement at any time and impartially. KFOR works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Law Rule in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as respondors to security issues.
