The tragedy of the Albanian family in Italy: They still had signs of life when I entered the apartment

A major tragedy occurred Wednesday evening in the small town of Porcar, Italy, where an Albanian family lost their lives due to poisoning from the flow of gas.

Arti Kola, 48, his wife Jonida, 43, son Hajdar, 22, and daughter Jessica, 15, lost their lives after carbon monoxide came out of a broken house.

Ernest Cela, one of the family's neighbors who arrived at the scene, has described the moments of finding four lifeless bodies.

About 9:30 a.m., the police patrol arrived, along with the brother of the family head who had passed away. We entered the apartment immediately and climbed to the second floor. There I saw four lifeless bodies lying on the ground. I checked immediately to see if they still had a pulse and by then, they still had signs of life. But when my uncle lost his feelings, my father and I, along with the two carabinieri, began to feel troubled. There we realized that there was something in the air, a gas or other substance. Initially, the ambulance came, followed by fire”, he said.

Regarding this tragic event, Porcar Mayor Leonardo Fornacari reacted, saying: “A whole family, the Kola family, has lost their lives in their home, perhaps because of the carbon monoxide that exploded from the defective furnace. We are all shocked and saddened by this tragic event”./Periscopi/
