A Texas man tucks 250 paper planes in an hour

A Texas man folded 250 paper planes in an hour on average four per minute and testified that they could fly to prove a world record Guinness.

Tyler's resident, Richard DeFreece, who first applied to the Guinness world record two years ago, said he received approval for his official attempt in December 2025 and made his bid for the record Saturday.

DeFreece managed to fold 250 paper planes at the appointed time, breaking the 200-strong target set by world records Guinness.

Each aircraft was tested by an official at the end of the attempt to make sure that everyone was able to fly, it transmitsgraphy.

I feel fantastic. It's a lot of hard work and the practice that it took to achieve this, and I'm happy that I reached my record”, DeFreece told Tyler Morning Telegraph.

He said breaking a world record is an early goal.

I've always wanted to break a world record and I started thinking, "What can I do?" because I'm not faster and not even stronger, so I started looking at unknown records. I contacted Guinness and they said the record was 200 for paper planes, and I said, okay, I think I could break it”, DeFreece said.

Evidence from DeFreece's effort should now be revised by Guinness World Records to become official. ./Periscopi/
