According to journalist Fatmir Popja, the action was carried out by Elbasan police in co-operation with Shkodra Police. During the search of the vehicle with which the suspects were moving, police seized about 45kg of sativa cannabis, a firearm with ammunition, a sum of money and several mobile phones with Albanian and foreign SIM cards.
According to police, the intervention came after allegedly carrying drugs. The driver of the vehicle has attempted to leave, but has been banned from law enforcement in a suburb of the city.
During the operation, a police officer has been easily injured by accidentally breaking a mosque and in danger of life.
Investigations continue to dawn the case completely and verify whether others are involved. /Panorama
