In a post on social networks, Elisa Spiropali said dialogue remains the safest way for strengthening trust and democratic standards.

I commend students for the civic engagement and the democratic way in which they have articulated their demand for the use of Albanian language in line with the right guaranteed by the Constitution and the legislation in power”, Spiropali writes.

Minister Spiropali expressed appreciation for the readiness of northern Macedonia institutions, particularly Prime Minister Mickoski and Deputy Prime Minister Sali, to address the issue seriously and in line with the country's Constitution and legal framework.

“Dialogu, institutional solutions and respect for rights remain the safest way for strengthening trust and democratic standards”, Spiropali said.

In northern Macedonia 385 Albanian students from three law faculties -- the one from Tetovo University, the University of South East Europe and the University of “Mother Teresa” -- have submitted a petition demanding that this exam be held in Albanian, along with Macedonian. They say it belongs to them by law, as studies are conducted in Albanian and the Albanian language is official in the country.
