The petition to the tribunal's Specialised Chambers at The Hague requires that the decision for former KLA elites be taken only on the basis of evidence and evidence presented and administered during the trial process.
Any direct or indirect political influence would seriously damage the credibility of international justice, which we expect to be impartial and without double standards. Full and unconditional respect for the fundamental rights of the accused, respect for the Specialised Chambers Law adopted by the Parliament of Kosovo, and full respect for the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo; guaranteeing fair, transparent and impartial process, in line with the highest standards of justice”.
“Dignified and human treatment, in line with international conventions on the rights of the detainees, guaranteeing full respect for their physical and psychological integrity; including immediate removal of the detention measure, taking into account the extraordinary length of the process and the principle of judgment within a reasonable deadline”, says further on petition”.
