A SHAK: KLA war cannot be stigmatised by processes that may have political motives

In a response Tuesday, the ASHAK leadership stresses that the judicial process should be conducted in full compliance with international standards of justice and with respect to human rights, as guaranteed by the Constitution of Kosovo and the European Convention on Human Rights. According to ASHAK, any deviation from these principles constitutes political influence and undermines the legitimacy and impartiality of the judicial process.

The academy highlights the historical and moral importance of the KLA's liberation war, stressing that it was developed for the protection of the civilian population and the liberation of Kosovo. KLA leaders' contribution to this historic process is considered crucial and, according to A The SHAK, cannot be relatable or stigmatised under a process that could have political motives.

Also, the ASHAK leadership strongly opposes any attempt to relativise the Serbian genocide against the civilian population in Kosovo. It stresses that the KLA war and the sacrifices of Albanians for Kosovo's freedom are part of documented history and cannot be denied or misinterpreted for any purpose.

In this context, A The SHAK proposes that Kosovo institutions build independent mechanisms for monitoring human rights violations by the Special Court, with the aim of ensuring transparency, accountability and respect for international justice standards.
