Through a Facebook post, Sejdiu has thanked Oravin for his contribution and has cited the importance of regional co-operation and Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Today I had special satisfaction in waiting at my office for the European Union Ambassador to Kosovo. Aivo Orav. It was a farewell meeting as he completes his mandate in Kosovo for a few days. It was a good opportunity to thank him for the good work he did in our country”.
“Ambassador Orav will remain a good friend to Kosovo even in the future”, Sejdiu wrote, Kancesova attended. tv
Aivo Orav has launched his mandate in Kosovo on September 2024. The EU ambassadors' mandates in Kosovo last two years.
Based on former President Sejdiu's warning, this appears to be the first time that an EU ambassador to Kosovo does not continue the mandate after the end of the first one.
We remember that Samuel Zbogar served in Kosovo from 2011 to 2016, continuing his mandate twice.
Following him was Natalia Apostolova, who was given a two - year term once (2016 - 2020).
Meanwhile before Orav was Thomas Szunyog, who remained in Kosovo from 2020 to August 2024.
Even Pieter Feith, as International Civilian Representative, served in Kosovo from 2008 to 2011.
