Police follow a man from Obilic to Mitrovica

The event occurred initially in the area of Obilic, where the driver of the vehicle did not respond to police signals and continued moving towards Vushtrri and later Mitrovica. During the pursuit, he struck a police vehicle three times at three different locations and risked other traffic participants.

Thanks to police professionalism, the driver and three passengers of the vehicle were detained on the Mitrovica National Road, Zubin Potok, in the village segment of Zupc, without endangering other citizens.

Two police officials suffered injuries during the prosecution and received medical treatment. With the decision of the competent prosecutor, the driver has been assigned police ban, while investigations into the case continue for criminal work “Attack the official person in the conduct of the official task”.

Try to avoid police arrest vehicle driver

South Mitrovica, February 07, 2026

During the night of February 07th, 2026, a police unit has attempted to stop a vehicle in the Obiliki area, but its leader, jeopardising the police official, has not stopped signaling and has continued moving in the direction of Vushteria and later in Mitrovica.

In co-ordination with the units of the Obilic Police Station, tracking and stopping the suspected vehicle has continued from the South Mitrovica Road Traffic Units, which have repeatedly used signaling to stop. During the pursuit, the driver of the vehicle has repeatedly endangered other participants in traffic, while in the Mitrovica area of three different locations, it has hit three times the police car that was in pursuit.

Thanks to the dexterity and professionalism of police officials, who have acted calmly, self-restraint and caution, using a suitable location without endangering other participants in traffic, on the Mitrovica National Route, Zubin Potok, on the road segment in the village of Zupc, have managed to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver and three passengers.
