PDK assemblies in Pristina demand that the first hour of 16 February be dedicated to KLA role

Assemblyists of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in the capital have addressed at official request to the mayor of Pristina, Rama, who in all Pristina schools, the first teaching hour of February 16th to 19th dedicated the role and sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).

Request was made public by Leutrim Retkocer, asamblist of PDK in Pristina, which has stressed that on the eve of Independence Day it is institutional and moral duty for students to get acquainted with the sacrifice on which the state of Kosovo was built.

According to him, such a practice has existed even during the PDK's previous rule in the capital, when through the Directorate of Education, speeches were organised with former KLA soldiers and disabled people in order for history to be broadcast directly to new generations.

Retkocer has stressed that this initiative receives special weight even on the eve of the civic march “Justice, not the Policy”, which will be held on February 17th in Pristina, in support of former KLA leaders facing trial process at The Hague Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
