Discussions come amid the US's largest military gathering in the Middle East since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, and Iran, which vows to respond strongly to an attack, the BBC writes.
The talks are being mediated again by Oman Foreign Minister Badr Albusadi, who said negotiators had “demonised an unprecedented opening to new and creative ideas and solutions”.
But the chances of an agreement remain unclear.
