Five hours of February 11th make Kosovo with new Government Assembly

The Kosovo Assembly has concluded yesterday a long process that lasted about five hours, voting as Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiun with 66 votes for.

This decision ends the political blockade almost a year in 2025 Haxhi had not been elected chief parliament after several attempts.

In an extraordinary evening session, the Assembly also approved the new Government, led by Albin Kurti, marking the launch of the mandate “Kurti 3”.

The government received the support of the majority of MPs -- 66 votes per, 49 against and without any abstentions -- reports Clankosova.tv.

Prior to the vote, Prime Minister Kurti presented the exhibition, citing the achievements of the mandate passed in the economy, social measures and support for various sectors.

He also spoke of court processes against former KLA leaders in The Hague, claiming that the Special Prosecutor's demands conflict with the truth of the liberation war.

The new government will have 20 ministries, out of 16 in advance.

The Ministry of Labour, Family and Values of the Liberation War and the Ministry of Public Administration and Digitalisation have been added.

Also, the Ministry of Sports and Youth is divided from that of Culture, while the Ministry of Infrastructure and Trade and Transport are also divided.

The cabinet proposed by Kurti consists of 20 ministers and deputy ministers, including Glauk Konjufka as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Grovalla as Justice Minister, Hekuran Mkrat in Finance, Arben Vitina in Health, Hajrlla Ceku in Education and Science, among others.

Following the prime minister's vote and oath, congratulations and support for the new government have voiced Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, international diplomats and partners from Albania and Europe, thus marking a new beginning of the ruling mandate in the country. /Periscope
