Haxhiu: With constitutional weight and the will of citizens, I will honor my duty as Speaker of the Parliament

Following her election as Kosovo Parliament Speaker with 66 votes in favour, Albulen Haxhiu has given a speech thanking MPs and expressed her commitment to leading the Parliament with dedication and transparency.

“Allowing you first to thank for the confidence given to the leadership of the 7th Parliament legislature of the Republic of Kosovo. Today I take this task consciously for the constitutional burden it carries, and with deep respect for the will of the citizens who brought us here. We will honor that trust with daily work, transparency, and also full devotion. To be in charge of the Parliament means to serve the Republic, democratic order and public execution. The Assembly is the political home of all our citizens, those who are with us, and those who think differently, because the state serves everyone” Haxhi said.

She stressed that her task would be to ensure that the Assembly functions with mutual dignity, transparency and respect, always acting in accordance with the Constitution, the best parliamentary laws and practices.

“will make sure that each of you finds space here with dignity and respect, because a functional Assembly is a prerequisite for a strong state and stable democracy” Haxhiu said.
