Epstein Scandal, first responds to the British royal family

Prince William and Princess Catherine expressed concern for Jeffrey Epstein's victims in a statement, the recent move by the British monarchy to distance itself from revelations about former Prince Andrew's relationship with the condemned sexual wrongdoer.

Britain's most famous royal family says it was shocked by the content of more than 3 million pages of documents published earlier this month by the US Department of Justice.

“I can confirm that Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply concerned by continuing revelations”, the palace said in a statement.

Their “Their thoughts remain focused on victims”, he added.

The statement issued prior to William's three-day trip to Saudi Arabia is part of the monarchy's response to the growing crisis surrounding the former Prince, which was stripped of royal titles in October following earlier revelations about his relationship with Epstein.

King Charles III's 65-year-old brother is now known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The king last week forced Mountbatten-Windsor to leave his early home at Royal Lodge near the Winter Castle, accelerating a move that was announced for the first time in October, but was not expected to be completed until later this year.

Mountbatten-Windsor now lives on the king's property in Sandringham in eastern England.

He will live temporarily on Wood Farm Cottage while his permanent property house will undergo repairs.

Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any breach in his relationship with Epstein. /Telegraph
