According to information provided by journalist Jansila Kodra, the effective commissioner no. 4 had received information that Berisha would travel to Tirana and then to the area of Fresk to sell previously seized pistols. It has been kept under surveillance since the crossing at Morin's Border Point, where it entered Albania's territory with the type “Volkswagen”.
Police report that earlier, with the use of undercover agents, he bought Berisha 2 pistols in Fresk to document his criminal activity. The move was carried out to collect concrete evidence of arms trafficking and to prevent their distribution to the illegal market.
Preliminary investigations show Berisha allegedly carried out similar actions even earlier, pointing to an ongoing activity of arms trafficking in fire towards the Tirana area.
The procedure materials and the evidence gathered referred to the Prosecutor for further action, while police are continuing investigations into identifying others involved in the arms trafficking network.
This case highlights Tirana Police's focus on preventing arms trafficking and hitting criminal networks, using proactive methods and undercover agents for collecting evidence. /BalkanWeb/ Periscopi/
