Problems continue at thermal power plants, after the A5 unit is restored, and unit B1 shuts down.

According to KEK, the gap was made after the inability to continue the secure operation of this unit.

Kosovo Energy Corps ( KEK U.S.A. announces the public opinion that today, during the day, at the B1 thermal power plant Kosova B unit have been counted as considerable flow of steam into the sewer system, presented at around 10:00. After the technical assessment and because of the inability to continue the safe operation, as a result of higher water costs and the risk of greater technical damage, the B1 unit has been decided to break off from operating before 18:00, as a precaution for maintaining the integrity of the” unit, KEK's announcement said.

KEK has also informed in this announcement that even after the B1 facility shut down, the power supply is secure and the operation continues steadily with 4 generation units, which, according to KEK, covers 87.6% of the total consumer demand. The rest is provided through import.

Meanwhile during the day, the Kosovo Energy Corporation announced that after nearly a week, the A5th unit of the Kosova A thermal power plant turned into operation.

Even this unit had stopped operating because of a leak into the pipe system.
