“Based in official reports of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and the European Commission, dated 09.02.26, reports that at a family farm in the Marmure region of the Republic of Romania, there has been a confirmation of the presence of rage disease (rabies) in domestic animals. In accordance with the Veterina Law, The AUV has ruled on the ban on importing live animals, including cattle, sheep, goats and pigs, as well as their products, originating from the infected area in Romania's state. This measure immediately goes into effect”, says the AUV report.
The report says the Food and Veterinary Agency will continue monitoring the situation and regular information of the public and economic operators for any new development.
“AUV remains committed to close co-operation with local and international institutions, with the aim of preventing the spread of this disease and protection of public health and veterinarian”, the report said. /Periscope
