Police in Serbia have seized five tonnes of marijuana in the village of Konjuh, near Krushevci ʹ the largest amount ever seized in the country.

In addition to drugs, four automatic weapons, a rocket launcher and money worth nearly 13 thousand euros have been found. Three people have been arrested as part of a organised criminal group.

“Based on the several-month work of the Prosecutor for Organised Crime and the Drug Fighting Service, in a complicated and coordinated operation, in the Konjuh village area, 5 tonnes of marijuana” has been seized, the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

They said that along with drugs, at least four automatic weapons, a rocket launcher, and over 1,500,000 dinars of cash have been found. At the scene the R.S. and N.S. (babe and son), and in another address, I.D., part of the same criminal group has been handed over.

This criminal structure had stored marijuana at the facility of the company Florakom d.o.u, from drugs was then sent to Belgrade for sale. Its market value is expected to reach around 50m euros”, the announcement said.

Scales, vacuum cars and packing bags have also been found in the warehouse. Police report that the raids are continuing, while suspects will be sent to the Prosecutor for Organised Crime for questioning.
