Found Imported by Serbia, Croatia cancels military mattress purchase

The Croatian Defence Ministry (MORH) has abandoned the procurement of mattresses for barracks when it was found that the company they linked a contract was importing mattresses from Serbia.
As MORH told Dnevnik.hr, the entire public procurement process had to be suspended, even if it was essentially completed.
The Ministry of Defence does not accept that mattresses for military beds are produced in the Republic of Serbia and, in line with legal opportunities, will cancel this procurement procedure and will not link a contract. In the future, conditions related to production and procurement will be revised for such procurement procedures”, they said.
The company that won the contract to buy 1,700 barracks mattresses is Komfort from Slavonski Brod. However, this company deals with imports and resolding mattresses from Serbia, which led to the collapse of the public procurement process.
To add another strange touch to the situation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will buy mattresses from the same company.
They have signed several contracts worth 126 thousand euros with the Comfort company, and half of these contracts have already been implemented. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is, among other things, buying equipment from the Comfort for dormitories at the Police Academy. /Klix
