SBASK rejects Special Court class at school: Education institutions are not room for political narraturva

In its response, the SBASK estimates it is unacceptable for educational institutions to be used for promotion, reportedly a unilateral narrative, in order for students to be convinced that the Special Court represents justice.

According to the SBASK, the greatest injustice is the fact that, for more than five years, the former heads of the Kosovo Liberation Army are being held in custody, though, according to the union, they were freedom fighters and NATO associates in efforts for freedom, dignity and rights for education.

The SBASK recalls that during the Serbian depression in Kosovo, Serbia had closed all Albanian schools, including Gimnazin “Germanys Doda”, while teachers and education workers, organised even through this union, had kept Albanian education alive with great sacrifices.

The “is paradoxically and morally unacceptable so that today, in those same school environments, a court can be promoted that, according to us, is judging unilaterally the liberation war of the people of Kosovo, equated with the aggressor”, it is said in response.

SBASK has also reacted to the involvement of Y organisation The IHR, praising that through this activity a political and ideological agenda has been introduced to educational institutions, without respect for historical, national and educational sensibilities.

In this direction, the SBASK calls on the Ministry of Education, the Municipal Education Directorate in Pristina and the Gymnasium Management “Germanys Doda” to take concrete measures and not allow, reportedly, turning schools into spaces to promote historical truth and the dignity of the liberation war.

At the same time, the union has appealed to all education workers in Kosovo to show caution and professional and national responsibility, not allowing organisation of similar activities in schools.
