Recount of Votes ♫ Prosecutor's Prosecution Begins Investigations in Drenas

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has launched investigations into the voting counting process in Drenas.

“The Sand Crimes Department, continuing to conduct the process of recounting votes for general elections held on the 28.12.2025 date, has noted differences over the results of MPs' candidates following the completion of the recount process in the Drensa municipality”, said among other things in the announcement.

Basic Prosecutor in Pristina authorises Kosovo Police over counting process in Drensa municipality

Pristina, 26.01.26 B.C.E. Taking into account this circumstance, the state prosecutor today has issued authorisation to the Kosovo Police in order to collect information and investigate possible violations by responsible persons, as well as to provide evidence on the issue.

Similarly, the state prosecutor is closely conveying the recount process to other municipalities that fall into the competence of this prosecutor, while after the completion of this process all circumstances will be analysed and the possibility of issuing additional authorizations for collecting information is considered.

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina is identified in fighting negative phenomena in the Republic of Kosovo, especially with cases involving the protection of the will of citizens expressed through free vote.
