The prosecution details the action where 90kg of marijuana was confiscated in Podujevo

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police, has announced an operation conducted after several months of investigation and implementation of separate investigative measures, in the context of the case coded “Bregdet”, writes Periscopi.

According to the announcement, at 21.01.2026 around 11:00, near the Merdare border crossing, the suspect H.S., who was running a truck with local license plates, has been detained. In the search of the truck, 68 packages with suspected marijuana - type narcotics substance, which is a total of 750 pounds [76 kg] and 800 grams, have been found.

Also, search of the suspect's house has been completed, where a five-round firearm, two cars, one truck, a mobile phone and cash worth 2,950 euros has been found and seized.

According to the prosecution's announcement at the state prosecutor's order, the 48-hour detention measure has been scheduled, while the prosecutor has announced that further investigative actions will be undertaken.

The ongoing operation, dated 22,01.2026, has also been carried out in two locations, the homes of two Kosovo male suspects in the village of Godisnjak Podujevo and during their search have been found. 4 packs filled with suspected narcotic substance, weighing 4 kilograms and 454 grams (four kilograms of 454 grams) and 2 cars.”, It says on notice.
