Police find arms, ammunition and hand grenades in an abandoned Zvecan house

According to the official announcement, the case occurred on January 24th 2026 around 09:20, after police accepted information through operational routes and conducted control at the suspected facility.

During the search, an AK-47 automatic rifle, a semi-automatic two-tier rifle, ten empty clips, six clips loaded with 30 rounds, 84 rounds for automatic rifles, 14 rounds for semi-automatic rifles, a belt for bullets, two M50 hand grenades, and weapons cleaning equipment.

In terms of the case, the State Prosecutor has been notified and directed the initiative of the criminal procedure for the “possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons”.

There are no persons arrested until this phase of investigation.

Kosovo police have thanked citizens for their co-operation and have encouraged every suspicious case or illegal action to report to the 192 emergency number or to the nearest police station.
